Alchemical Transcendence

This past week I did a call with my Miraculous Maestro buddies where we explored next level Quantum Energy. I believe we have recently moved to a whole new level of energetic play, so thought I’d pass it on for you to enjoy . . .

A friend was telling me about a personal manifestation course she’s doing, about how to meditate to visualise exactly what you want. In that moment I realised how differently we ALLchemists work…

  1. We surrender ourselves, our desires, our expectations to become the ALL (Universe, Source, Divine, Infinite, the Force … whatever you’d like to call it).
  2. Then we power up the Life Power & Miraculous Power to activate new possibilities, bringing them through into consciousness and reality for all life to thrive.
  3. And finally we get excited to see what the universe has in store for us for today’s wonderful surprise. The outcomes astound and delight us.

As ALLchemists we play in the playgrounds of ‘what wants to be’ (not what is or what was), asking what can we do for the universe today. And there is where the MAGIC really gets cooking!

To Save a Forest, Look to the Women

Sara Inés Lara, leader of Colombia-based bird conservation organization Fundación ProAves, got her first taste of conservation’s potential more than 30 years ago. She grew up in one of the most biodiverse places in the world, seeking refuge in the forests, mountains, and pools of the Andes. Then, in 1998, she learned about the yellow-eared parrot.

It was once a common bird near her hometown and across the Colombian Andes, but its population had dwindled to a flock of 81 individuals. Captivated by the fate of the little bird, she abandoned her career as a civil engineer and, along with British ornithologist and her now-husband Paul Salaman and a group of other conservationists, founded ProAves to protect it.

With the help of nearby communities, especially local women, the group successfully fought for an end to the logging of wax palms—the bird’s nesting and feeding site—and hunting of the parrot for sport. The yellow-eared parrot was adopted as a regional emblem. Soon, the population started growing rapidly. Today, there are more than 2,800 individuals, and a couple of years ago, a flock of two dozen parrots was spotted near Lara’s hometown.

It was a huge win, and it taught Lara an important lesson: Women are instrumental in conservation. Women often feel the adverse effects of environmental degradation hardest, and their participation in ProAves’ work quickly demonstrated that they were essential to the success of community-based conservation projects. In many rural communities in Colombia, women are responsible for meeting their families’ most basic needs from nature, including water, firewood, and food—all of which become increasingly difficult as the environment suffers. But the women she encountered needed support, too.

“Many of the women I met were exhausted from childbearing, they did not have any food to feed their children, and they were desperate to have access to family planning,” says Lara.

In 2004, Lara founded Women for Conservation to increase access to public health, family planning, economic opportunities, and environmental conservation. The nonprofit organization aims to build the health of the communities bordering nature reserves, so they can be more economically independent and better able to protect their local environment. The organization runs workshops and trainings, ranging from environmental education to sustainable livelihoods and family planning, for women in 10 communities. It became independent of ProAves in late 2019, and reports that it has since directly reached more than 2,200 people, mostly women and young girls.

Women for Conservation also teaches women to produce wildlife-friendly artisan crafts to replace dependence on cattle ranching and prevent deforestation. In Puerto Pinzón, for example, as part of a broader project to protect the blue-billed curassow, the organization taught women to collect tagua nuts, the seeds of palm trees that are known as “vegetable ivory,” and to produce jewelry that they can sell on the market. Women for Conservation also encouraged the local community to ban hunting, use fuel-efficient stoves to decrease deforestation, and start a tree nursery.

Women for Conservation also runs workshops aimed at training women for careers in conservation and ecotourism.

Ninfa Estella Carinialli was the first woman forest ranger trained and sponsored by Women for Conservation and ProAves. She obtained the International Ranger Award from the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2021, and she works in the Águila Harpía ProAves Reserve, which is located in the eastern Colombian state of Guainía.

Carinialli’s first few years as a forest guard were hard. “My son drowned and my husband passed away from COVID,” she remembers. But, as it had with Lara, the forest proved a refuge. “I felt a deep sadness, but I am thankful for the memories I have with them, and for the opportunity to work in conservation, which makes me happy and fills me with peace.”

Overcoming Myths and Barriers

One of the most important—and sensitive—tasks Women for Conservation has taken on is a focus on reproduction and family planning in local communities. Lara initially had to deal with pushback from local communities. “When we started talking about family planning, we had a couple of incidents where women were severely beaten up for participating in our workshops,” she says. “I learned in a hard way that we need to present women’s empowerment not as a threat, but as a benefit for the family.”

In partnership with the reproductive and family health organization Profamilia, Women for Conservation organizes reproductive health workshops and provides family planning services. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the organization reports it has facilitated 360 contraceptive implants and 27 surgical procedures, including tubal ligations and vasectomies.

The ability to plan pregnancies becomes vital for women and girls when they can’t depend on the natural environment for basic survival needs, says Kelly Donado, who organizes logistics for the family planning brigades at Women for Conservation.

“When there’s ever-less food, jobs, and water, it scares me to think of bringing more babies into the world,” she says. “What kind of situation are we bringing them into? When girls have unplanned pregnancies, they cannot be adequate carers, and often, they’re not able to provide for their babies.”

Donado is leading a campaign in Zona Bananera, a municipality of Santa Marta, which suffers from water scarcity due to diversion for banana and palm growing. Her sister is a local nurse and has offered her home as a center for the clinics and workshops, as there are no medical clinics in the area. Ana Marquis, an 18-year-old from the area, is one of those who participated and decided to get a contraceptive implant.

“It lets me decide when to have my children,” she says in Spanish. She lost two pregnancies in recent years. “Right now, I’m looking after myself so that I can study and not have to worry about getting pregnant.”

In February 2022, Women for Conservation provided 72 women in Zona Bananera with contraceptive implants, in addition to offering cancer screenings, follow-ups, and reproductive education workshops. By the time the group’s representatives returned in March for checkups, more than 190 women and girls had added their names to the waiting list. Men also began requesting contraception from Women for Conservation, which resulted in the first vasectomy procedures in the Zona Bananera region in February 2022.

“Family planning has myriad social, economic, and environmental benefits: It improves the livelihoods and well-being of people and the planet and relieves population pressures on the natural environment, as well as on food production and water scarcity,” says Catriona Spaven-Donn, the Empower to Plan project coordinator for the British charity Population Matters, which supports Women for Conservation.

While Women for Conservation has made significant progress destigmatizing family planning, resistance remains. Marquis says her family forbid her from getting the implant until she was 18, as they have for her 16-year-old sister.

Some families believe that denying teenagers access to contraceptive resources will prevent them from engaging in sexual activity, a belief that has been widely debunked.

Women for Conservation also faced resistance from its peers in the environmental world. Lara remembers other conservation leaders telling her that working with women was nice, but it was not a priority. Whenever she spoke about the link between a growing population, increasing poverty, and environmental impacts, she was told to avoid talking about population.

That’s a trend in recent decades among development, environmental, and reproductive rights community groups. The focus is instead on sexual and reproductive health, choice, and rights of individuals, rather than addressing demographic factors.

“In the past, people wasted a lot of time stereotyping our planetary crises, asking whether the main problem is population or consumption,” says Phoebe Barnard, professor of global change science and futures at the University of Washington, and founding director of the global Stable Planet Alliance, which aims to stabilize and reduce consumption and global population. “Well, of course, it’s not either–or. It’s both. Investing in women’s education, leadership, and opportunities remains a really powerful way to bring benefits not only for women, but for families and children, nature, and the future of our whole civilization.”

Still, even the issues of reproductive health and women’s rights can be difficult to raise among poor, rural Colombian women living in communities where maternity and a large number of children are often viewed positively, and where men may feel a loss of control over women’s sexuality when women use modern contraceptives. In such contexts, contraception is sometimes seen as undermining the traditional gender roles and the stability of the couple and is therefore not trusted or not used.

What’s clear is the close tie between women’s empowerment and environmental outcomes. Recent research found that 80% of people displaced by climate change are women. The U.N. made gender equality an integral part of its Sustainable Development Goals, from equal access to education to family planning.

That link has pushed Women for Conservation beyond family planning to providing basic services to ensure Colombian women are healthy and safe. Breast cancer is the most diagnosed form of cancer in Colombia, so last year, the NGO started providing mammograms and training women on how to conduct a self breast exam. With a drastic increase in calls to domestic violence hotlines during the pandemic, Lara has also started leading workshops and education on the subject.

How We Dream 

REM is the sweet spot

The Psychology Of Dreams

Everyone, at one time or another, has wondered what their dreams mean.

Dreaming is the most extensively studied cognitive state. While some experts believe that dreams have no meaning and serve no function, others believe that our dreams do mean something.

A number of theories exist on what dreams mean, some of the more recognized theories include:

  • Psychoanalytic theory.In this theory, dreams are believed to represent unconscious desires, wish fulfillment, and personal conflicts. Dreams give us a way to act out unconscious desires in the safety of an unreal setting, because acting them out in reality would be unacceptable.
  • Activation-synthesis theory.Popularized in the 1970s, this theory suggests that dreams are just a byproduct of your brain trying to process random signals from your limbic system, which is involved in your memories, emotions, and sensations.
  • Continual activation theory.This is the idea that our brains are continuously storing memories, even when we’re asleep. It suggests our dreams provide a place to hold our memories while they make the transition from our short-term memory to our long-term memory.

These barely begin to scratch the surface of dream interpretation theories. Here are some other interesting theories on the meaning of dreams:

  • Dreams are threat simulations that help prepare you when faced with threats in real life.
  • Dreams are your brain’s way of collecting and clearing out useless information from the day to make room for new information the next day.
  • Dreaming goes back to an evolutionary defense mechanism of playing dead to fool enemies. This explains why our bodies are paralyzed while dreaming, but our minds remain highly active.

 

The Bottom Line

Experts may not have any concrete answers as to why we dream and what function dreams serve.

What we do know is that everyone dreams, and even our really strange dreams are perfectly normal.

Return to Sender

 

Another year, another momentous month, and many different energies pushing and pulling in many different directions. If there is one recommendation for the now, is trying to maintain some equilibrium and keep your cool.  Things could fray at any moment, so it’s beneficial to take three deep breaths whenever you feel on the verge of overwhelm or your fuse is lit by your own sense of frustration, or other’s demands, or information and energy overloads. Reminds me of an old Broadway musical called, “Stop the World, I Want to Get Off!”

The multidimensionality of events and stimuli is quite evident in the outer material reality, but it is mostly happening in the mind/astral realm. Our emotional bodies are jostled, and our physical bodies are telegraphing frantic messages like “danger ahead”, or “Hey, pay attention! We’re in pain, discomfort and insecurity!” This is unsurprising when the entire planet is immersed in a chaotic fishbowl of artificial digital atmospheres, media-fostered fear headlines, and one crisis after another all clamouring for attention and action.

Take a BIG step back from it all! All this is not who you are, nor is it indicative of the true nature of Nature and every other soul in this world.  Meditation is important for calming the mind stuff and connecting and caring for our physicality even more so.  When I get rattled, I listen to music…calming, meditative and ethereal music.  Do whatever works for you, not as a mindless form of escapism, but as a conscious form of self-care and rebalancing.

The astrological/energetic markers for the weeks ahead are also multidimensional and multipurpose.  Remember, what we call astrology is nothing more than a symbolic language for understanding life on Earth, nothing more and nothing less. It won’t make you more spiritual, but it can point you towards things in your psyche that may get in the way (karmic habits) of your full self-realization.  When applied to national or world events, astrology has an uncanny ability to predict potential manifestations of our collective consciousness or help us understand in hindsight what the hell just did happen, and why.

We are embodied forms of Consciousness, and that is why everything ‘feels’ so freaking real. At the level of the Absolute, it is all just a form of play manifesting in a dualistic way. So, what is the Absolute wanting us to pay attention to, right now? Remember that the transiting Nodal Axis is astrology’s way of highlighting the most important thing, right now.  (For those of you who are students of astrology or grizzled veterans, please reference the charts I’ve provided below.)

​If you have your own chart, check for any aspects to the degrees mentioned in the next paragraph, and remember that there can be five major aspects: Conjunctions (within 6 degrees of one another), Squares (at a 90-degree angle between points), Sextiles (60 degree angles), Oppositions (180 degrees opposite one another), and Trines (90 degrees in relationship to each other).

First up the Full Moon on the 16th arrives at 4:55pm GMT (London) at the 27th degree and 59th minute of Leo. Mars and Venus are conjunct at 16 degrees of Capricorn, and Pluto is now at the 27th degree of Capricorn and quincunx to the Full Moon. Quincunxes are awkward and irritating energies.  Like being stuck on a plane with someone next to you snoring and you must put up with it. A Quincunx is a 150-degree angle between two points.

This Full Moon is being squared (challenged) by the Nodal Axis at 27 degrees of Scorpio and Taurus. Recall what I said above, about the transiting Nodes saying, “pay attention to this!”? Here it is. Taurus is our values versus the culture or society’s value system. Scorpio is about secrets and security, and depth…lots of deep dark stuff.  Leo is about the heart chakra, yes, but also loves being the king or queen and feeling superior. The Sun at almost the last degree of Aquarius signals a call to look beyond the obvious and discover the higher ground perspective about what’s happening — and no, you cannot ignore or avoid what is unfolding.

The Native Americans feel that whatever is happening in the moment is exactly what needs to be happening, and to push it away or rationalize about it is never going to work. Better to open one’s eyes to the opportunity for remembering and growth instead of resisting.  This will be a really great time for seeing things with new eyes, and then planting new thoughts and ideas around what sort of actions would you like to create that will build a new and better tomorrow for you and everyone else. Think “both/and” and take it beyond the personal.

It is also a call to participate, even if you have strong feelings that are the opposite. For example, I have been wrestling with yearnings to simply chuck it all, head off into the woods, ditch my tech and live like a hermit. That may have a romantic spin to it, but it is a sure-fire way to fall off the edge of the world. Instead, this New Moon carries with it an energy to double one’s efforts to find and connect with your tribe and start building something in the way of a cooperative or community that looks and feels better than what the old world is offering. That world is dying, though it is putting up one hell of a fight along the way.

The next huge event is the USA Pluto Return on February 20th, 2022. To be frank, we’ve been in the energy of this already for months, and this is the first exact contact of Transiting Pluto to the USA Natal Pluto since July 4th, 1776. That’s never happened before, and it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event. How many times have you heard that in the past two years? Plenty, I suspect. Make no mistake, this one is bigger than the Saturn-Pluto conjunction on January 12th, 2020, that heralded in (or helped trigger) the COVID era.

The main event is Pluto conjunct Pluto, in Capricorn. It is the end of America as we have known it, and we will have to see how and what the people of the USA choose to do with that.  All the fruits of the seeds sown for 248 years are going to fall out of the sky all at once for good or bad. In America they refer to this as “chickens coming home to roost.” Hence the title for this article as it refers to how karma always returns to its sender.

Remember that there is only “good-bad” in duality. It may be more useful to phrase this as “helpful, or not helpful.” Since Capricorn governs governments, all manner of institutions (political, military, financial, medical, and social), a further dis-integration of the same may accelerate under Pluto’s tutelage.

Simultaneously, the regular folk may also realize that their leadership has been leading them down the garden path for a very long time. It will be time for everyone, not just Americans, to realize that the only power that these institutions and leaders have is the power we have ceded to them. It will be time to emancipate and wean ourselves out of the outworn habit of placing our trust and power into the hands of others, and start growing into mature, adult souls capable of looking after ourselves and each other in an egalitarian sort of way. Pluto is the Lord of Death, the Lord who Taketh Away, and anything that no longer is serving the collective soul of humanity is going to be removed…one way or another. Best not to resist it on any level as that is what causes suffering.

Once again, with the transiting Nodes involved the message is that THIS is the most important thing to focus on. Mars and Venus conjoined in Capricorn will stimulate loving ourselves no matter what happens and will stimulate our instincts to create structures and modalities designed to foster mutual survival and compassion…no matter what. Mercury conjunct the USA Nodal Axis in Aquarius-Leo will ask us, can you “think” in a new way about how to go about solving problems? In a nutshell, innovate from intuition, and provide leadership with heart. The transiting Moon in Libra conjunct the USA Natal Juno might be saying “all are welcome to the new Dispensation”, or something like that.

There will be two further conjunctions of Pluto to the USA Pluto this year, on July 12th when retrograde Pluto touches the natal Pluto, and the last pass, the “Resolution” will occur on December 28th, 2022.

So, what might happen at the initiation phase of this major archetypal event? Before I hazard a guess, I need to make the following statement:

One of the reasons that the world is the way it is and has been for thousands of years is because those entities and people whose orientation is rooted in domination of others in order to ensure the survival of the fittest, or hold the belief that the strong deserve to survive and the weak don’t matter, or they that were born to rule and see themselves as superior to us Muggles, is about to be heavily challenged. The globalists have woven the world together into a tight, authoritarian digital construct that they imagine they rule, and don’t kid yourselves, they know about astrology, and the hidden metaphysical arts and methods, and have employed their knowledge of these things to mold the world and human beings as they see fit. Talk about lack of consent on our part! They have been well organized, insanely well-funded, and working towards total hegemonic control of this planet and all it’s people and resources for a very long time. They won’t go away quietly either.

This year is pivotal in challenging that mindset and agenda, and replace it with a spiritually based, human-oriented philosophy and culture that works for everyone. Otherwise, once Pluto moves into Aquarius in the early part of 2023, the psychotic push towards an all too real one world digital tyranny may well culminate between 2023 and 2025 and be in place until well after Pluto leaves Aquarius in 2043.

The rabbit hole goes ever so deep, and into some real sci-fi places that many would prefer not to venture.  There are malevolent forces that have never held anything but envy for this planet, and animosity towards the humans and the divine experiment we are in and co-creating. Some call them the Archons, or the Jinn, or the Watchers. In the Americas they are referred to as “Wetiko”. Modern mystics and psychologists alike tend to think that this is an innate part of our original human design. I seriously contest that notion, as I feel that our original design never was intended to be predatory and deliberately cruel. These beings can infiltrate our minds, and we may unknowingly and ignorantly attribute some of our less desirable behaviours or propensities to our minds and personalities to our parents, our upbringing or some other purely psychological reason. If we remain unaware of what can influence and does influence us, then we cannot take responsible action to correct ourselves and trust solely in our own internal guidance system. A good technology example is television…or the Internet, and especially, smartphones.

I strongly feel that there are other lifeforms in the multiverse, many who benign and benevolent, and some that are hostile.  These hostile ones are given the some of the same abilities and some form of intelligence and volition from the Creator of All That Is. They are allowed to follow their predatory instincts, because the true nature of Love is always non-judgmental of Itself and is always allowing.  It will be up to us to grow in wisdom and reactivate the perceptual and practical skills needed to neutralize all such negative influences and do so without condemnation or judgment.

I remember listening to a very wise being from Arcturus who was speaking though a human channel in 1994 who addressed the thorny issues of entity possession, dark forces, and all that sort of stuff. With an abundant sense of humor and laser-like perception, he dropped the ultimate non-dualism statement: “After this world has ascended, that ‘darkness’ will be revealed to be of the Light.” They are a type of lifeform but their nature is synthetic, i.e., artificial sentient intelligence. One serious little caveat — this same Arcturian being also said that he and his colleagues were told before they came to Earth that they should not participate with evil in any form. Doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room these days.

Okay, one of my guesses about the upcoming exact meeting of Pluto to the USA Pluto is a big disruption in the world financial markets, starting on Wall Street or perhaps something in the currency trading markets. This could be precipitated by any number of factors, so I can’t reliably name a catalyst. Personally, any number of current events could be the trigger. Russia invading the Ukraine is one I can name. Another is the Canadian PM Trudeau deciding to break up the Freedom Convoy, while still another could be the removal of Britain’s scandal-ridden Prime Minister from power. This might precipitate a crisis of confidence in the UK currency — the Pound Sterling, and trigger panic in the markets and causing a devaluation.

​Well, the bubbles have been building for some time in the real estate, speculative stock trading, and currency trading markets (cryptocurrencies as well). The growing gap between the very rich and the rest of us has only gotten worse the last two years, when another huge and secret transfer of wealth upwards to the 1% of the 1% was enacted. Pluto presided over the crash of the cheap credit and real estate markets in 2007-2008, and he may just end his tenure in Capricorn the same way he entered it – in a dramatic fashion. This is just one guess. What you do feel, what do think?

One thing is for sure…the only constant is change, so be prepared for anything.  A full-on collapse may be just the galvanizing event to bring us together at a whole new level and build a new tomorrow. After all, isn’t all we have ever wanted is to be free? Isn’t that the rallying cry in many parts of the planet right now? Here’s our opportunity, our gift. Let’s make it real, for all.

Over the Speed Limit: How to Drive, Ecstatically Alive, Past 55

The day before I turned 55 I received a notice from my bank. The auxiliary checking account I’d opened for online transactions would shortly be assessed an $8 monthly fee unless I a) maintained a $1000 minimum balance, b) deposited $250/month, or c) used my ATM card at least ten times per month, none of which was feasible for me.

A bit put out by this parsimonious behavior from a bank I’d found very customer-centric until then, I approached the assistant manager. She skimmed the letter and said confidently, “We’ll find a solution.” After a couple of basic usage questions, she asked, “Are you 55?” I exclaimed, “My birthday’s tomorrow!” She said, “Then the account is free,” and scrawled, “55+ FREE” across the notice in red marker.

This was my first encounter with the unexpected perks of my seniority.

Sea Change in Consciousness

Coming of age as a member of the silver tsunami is a sea change from growing older in yesteryear. As the Boomer wave grays the globe, some members of this tribe have concocted playful descriptions: “chronologically gifted” and “over the speed limit” are two of my favorites.

Language matters, because, like the mirror, it reflects how we see ourselves. Cross-cultural anthropologist and author Angeles Arrien once shared how a child stroked her grandmother’s cheek, crooning, “Grandma, you have such pretty designs on your face.” Too young to “know better,” the little girl viewed her grandmother’s facial lines as fine art. Wrinkles can signify ripeness, wisdom, and a life lived by design, indeed.

Yet even as robustly alive as many of today’s elders are, I’m nowhere near ready for “Gran Central Station,” as I refer to the exuberant participants at a nearby senior center. And therein lies the conundrum.

“Forty is the old age of youth. Fifty is the youth of old age,” wrote French novelist Victor Hugo 150 years ago. Hugo lived to be 83, pretty “ripe old” for the 19thcentury. His observation is daunting to me, because I don’t feel remotely on the cusp of old age.

Marc Freedman agrees. Of the description “young old”, the author of The Big Shift: Navigating the New Stage Beyond Midlife asks, “Are most people in their 50s and 60s in anything resembling ‘old age’? Are they elderly? Senior citizens? (Why not child old for those in their 40s, infant old for the late-thirties set, and prenatal old for latter twentysomethings?)” Prenatal old. Love it!

This can be a juicy time. Visionary OB/GYN Christiane Northrup, MD, author of The Wisdom of Menopause, says midlife brings potential for regeneration. She cites research showing women in their 60s and 70s enjoy the best sex of their lives. Clean out emotional debris, claim your power — and it’s an erotic feast.

A Place of Passionate Possibility

Just as old age was reimagined as “the Golden Years” and retirement as a destination, Boomers are rapidly reinventing this time as a place of passionate possibility.

In The Big Shift, Freedman chronicles how Granville Stanley Hall publishedSenescence: The Last Half of Lifein 1922,when he was 76. Hall characterized this period as “a precious bud of vast potentialities” and urged older people to step up:

“We rarely come to anything like a masterly grip till the shadows begin to slant eastward, and for a season, which varies greatly with individuals, our powers increase as the shadows lengthen.” True to his teaching, Hall’s greatest creativity and achievement came after age 50.

One of my defining moments arrived while reading Deathing by Anya Foos-Graber, an uncommon guide to creating a spiritually informed dying process. The composite protagonist, Selma, in preparing for a grace-filled departure from this life, shares an inner vision of seeing people on a half-built bridge, “spilling into the sea, drowning in their own ignorance because they had no bridge, no reality construct to cross from this shore to the Other Side, from one reality to another.”

As a voice instructs Selma to “Build them a bridge,” I realized with chills of recognition that my recurring childhood dream of a train on an unfinished track jutting out into space was Spirit dispatching my mission statement: Become a world-bridger, build the bridge between mainstream and metaphysical. I was initially shown my life purpose in a dream at age eight, and only completely understood this early message at 55! I reveled in awe and gratitude for this belated awareness — even though I’ve been living “on purpose” for years.

How can we awaken to the clarion call of who we are, whatever our chronological age? Freedman says that by midlife, life has become a run-on sentence in dire need of punctuation, and he proposes a metaphorical semicolon to capture the sense of renewal and redirection.

Becoming An Elder of Excellence

Anthropologist Mary Catherine Bateson, author of Composing a Lifeand Composing a Further Life, calls for establishing “a midlife atrium”: a sabbatical of sorts that functions as an opportunity to let in more light and air — which is precisely how Kathy Bates describes this shift in the film Fried Green Tomatoes. When her perplexed husband asks his quintessentially evolving wife, “What’s changed?” she muses, “Oh, the air and the light.”

Bateson writes, “The doorway to this new stage of life is not filing for Social Security but thinking differently and continuing to learn.”

We all have the choice to become “Elders of Excellence,” a Louise Hay euphonic. (Hay’s classic, You Can Heal Your Life served as a template during my awakening journey.) Even the word “elder” confers an essence of wisdom and respect that seems lacking when we append “ly”, transforming the vibrant, vintage noun into a frail, forgotten adjective.

Rabbi Zalman Schacter-Shalomi, author of the wise guide, From Age-ing to Sage-ing, says we become elders not by accruing years, but by harvesting our wisdom in service to others — future generations, yes, but also our peers who may be aging fearfully.

Elders, he writes, “have an ongoing responsibility for maintaining society’s well-being…They are pioneers in consciousness who transmit a legacy to future generations. Serving as mentors, they pass on the distilled essence of their life experience to others. The joy of passing on wisdom to younger people not only seeds the future, but crowns an elder’s life with worth and nobility.”

Wonder and Wisdom

Perspective shifts as we do. I learned this profoundly from my lifelong friend Ellie, who lived alone after her husband’s transition until she was nearly 96. At 72 she began writing letters to the editor of her local newspaper, expressing strong opinions about the salient issues of the day. Most of her letters were published, and in 2009 the paper ran a front-page profile lauding Ellie’s 22 years of chirographic activism.

When I interviewed her at age 92, Ellie shared how she was a surrogate mom to “lots of young people.” I was 48 at the time and wondered what she meant, since to me “young people” were in their teens and early twenties. I was amused by her reply: “In their fifties.” By the time you’re 92, fifty is young.

Ellie’s enduring gift has been the joy with which she greeted each morning, her gratitude for “being accepted” by Source for one more day, keen to give it her best and create a little more beauty in the world. The last time I saw her, she scampered down three flights of stairs (yes, at 95) and pressed her nose against the glass prior to opening the door to her apartment building, causing me to giggle.

“I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,” sang Lee Ann Womack, and she might have been channeling Ellie. Although my friend never learned to drive a car, she lived over the speed limit in every sense of the phrase. As elders-in-training, we can all embrace this teaching: when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, DANCE!

The Fallacy of Our Carbon Footprint

 

In 1992, a Canadian ecologist named William Rees coined the term “ecological footprint,” a measurement of how much any entity was impacting the planet’s ecology. A decade later, British Petroleum started promoting a new term: “carbon footprint.”  In a splashy ad campaign, the company unveiled the first of its many carbon footprint calculators as a way for individuals to measure how their daily actions—what they eat, where they work, how they heat their home—impact global warming.

BP did not adopt the footprint imagery by accident. In the 30 years prior to the carbon footprint campaign, polluting companies had been using advertising to link pollution and climate change to personal choices. These campaigns, most notably the long-running Keep America Beautiful campaign, imply that individuals, rather than corporations, bear the responsibility for change.

“It was done so intentionally,” says Susan Hassol, director of the nonprofit science outreach group Climate Communication. “It’s a deflection.”

The universal adoption of the term “carbon footprint” hasn’t just changed how we speak about climate change. It’s changed how we think about it. Climate change has become an individual problem, caused by our insatiable appetite for consumption, and therefore a war that must be waged on our dinner plates and gas tanks, a hero’s journey from consumer to conservationist.

 

The reality is that the future of civilization is being decided at a political and corporate level that no individual can impact.

 

Yet the reality is that the future of civilization is being decided at a political and corporate level that no individual can impact. Just 100 companies are responsible for 71% of global emissions. Fossil fuel giants are funding climate change skepticism while simultaneously lobbying for tens of billions of dollars in subsidies. Big corporate names like Costco and Netflix are loudly committing to reduce emissions but unable to set meaningful targets or put plans in place. The Trump administration rolled back more than 100 environmental rules and regulations.

The same way that you give your child a toy to play with so you can finish your task uninterrupted, everyday citizens are busy changing out lightbulbs and buying electric cars while the true cause of global warming continues uninterrupted: a civilization dependent on fossil fuels. As Mike Tidwell, the executive director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, wrote in a 2007 op-ed, “every time an activist or politician hectors the public to voluntarily reach for a new bulb or spend extra on a Prius, ExxonMobil heaves a big sigh of relief.” A complete paradigm shift is needed—both in the way we conceptualize our individual climate impact and in the ways we calculate the emission impacts of those ultimately responsible: corporations and governmental systems.

One of the challenges with the carbon footprint measurement is how few of the factors an individual controls. Most of us have limited options for where we live, how far we have to commute to get to work, what kind of energy is available to heat our homes, etc. If we don’t own our home (and more than 30% of Americans don’t), we may not be able to properly insulate or install high-efficiency appliances. One research report from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology found that roughly one third of a city dweller’s carbon footprint is determined by public transportation options and building infrastructure. “We build our cities this way,” Hassol says. “It’s system change that’s really needed so that people have better choices.”

The inadequacy of our carbon footprint as a driver of change is painfully highlighted when you look at single-use plastics. Much attention has been given to how much plastic Americans consume (35.3 million tons per year, enough to fill the 104 million-cubic-foot AT&T Stadium in Dallas every 16 hours) and how each individual should be changing their behavior to help combat this waste. Everywhere you look, there’s a campaign to recycle more, or use metal straws, or bring your own bag to the grocery store.

In contrast, there are no public campaigns about the fact that packaging, an area where consumer control is limited, is the top driver of plastic production by a significant margin. The emissions impact of plastic manufacturing itself is rarely mentioned, along with the fact that much of our recycling still ends up in landfills. Some of the poorest nations are left to deal with hundreds of thousands of tons of soft drink bottles. The plastics are often just incinerated, creating serious environmental and health consequences. It’s a question as to whose carbon footprint is making a deeper impact on the environment: the family whose lettuce comes sealed in plastic (and who pays, not only for the product, but also for the waste collection and management services), or the company that is continuing to package food products in plastic materials, and then opting out of responsibility for their disposal.

 

Even if we just wanted to measure individual impact on climate change, the carbon footprint falls painfully short: “The current concept of a carbon footprint is too narrowly drawn,” Hassol explains. “It’s only the things I’m actively using and doing in my personal life and it doesn’t draw on other actions that are perhaps more important in the big picture as far as addressing climate change.”

For example, the average American has a carbon footprint of 16 tons. The average individual footprint globally is 4 tons. But that calculation doesn’t include who you vote for, how you invest your money, who you work for (and how much you travel for work, versus for leisure), or how you talk about climate change and influence others to get involved. “All of that should be part of the way we conceptualize our impact,” Hassol says.

Instead of obsessing over a single metric, Cameron Brick, a social psychologist from the University of Amsterdam, says he urges people to have an ongoing and evolving conversation between themselves and their chosen lifestyle. “It’s not a single number, because anytime you pick a metric, then we will begin to game it,” he says. Instead, a minimal-carbon lifestyle is a process—one that involves community-building and continuing to make improvements over time, he says. “My lifestyle is not perfect either, but probably better each year.”

Hassol points out that one of the most important ways that an individual can impact emissions on a wider scale is also the hardest to calculate: social contagion. “When people do something, it affects others around them and their emissions,” she says.

Studies have shown that energy-related behaviors are heavily influenced by peer groups, even more than cost or convenience. A study in California showed that every time a solar panel was installed within a certain ZIP code, the probability of another installation in that area increased by 0.78%. Similarly, if you know somebody who has given up flying because of climate change, you are 50% more likely to also reduce your own air travel.

“Your individual footprint is not the full measure of your contribution because you’re encouraging other people through your personal actions,” explains Hassol. She recommends that people who want to do more should research community solar options and ways to buy into clean energy in their communities, and then publicize those options among their families, friends and social networks, in order to create that initial momentum for change.

But what could system change look like? For starters, using measurements that actually hold the decision makers responsible for their emissions impacts, for the entire lifecycle of their product or service. That might look like Big Soda being held accountable not only for the manufacturing and transportation of their single-use plastics, but also for each and every bottle that ends up in somebody’s recycling bin (Coca-Cola is the top producer of plastic waste in the world). The shift also might look like emissions information being printed on product labels and unbiased regulatory bodies certifying the accuracy of corporate emissions reports.

On the policy level, interest in a carbon tax is growing. The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act was reintroduced in Congress this year (as Senate bill 984 and House Resolution 2238), and would force a temporary moratorium on virgin plastic production, require minimum recycled content, and ban some single-use plastic food service items. Many states already have some form of a producer responsibility program, where the producer of hard-to-dispose products such as paints, batteries, and other hazardous materials, must finance proper disposal. This creates an incentive to design reusable or less-toxic products.

When we shift the focus from changing consumer behavior to changing producer behavior, we see where true change happens: in corporate boardrooms and among political leaders. The irony of the carbon footprint is that individual action does have the power to change the world, just not on the lightbulb and recycling level.

“This problem is too big to solve voluntarily one person at a time,” Hassol says. “We need to change the system and you have a role in changing that system.”

Every Moment Counts: 2021 Summer Solstice

Greetings Earthlings,

I feel, therefore I am. This is the mantra for Cancer, the Cardinal sign in the Zodiac for Water. Our bodies made up of 60% or more of water, as is our planet. In a channelling I did ages ago, a source postulated that water is Goddess Consciousness made visible. That is to say, the supernal Light of Consciousness becomes embodied in as water in a 3rd dimensional level. It permeates everything and carries the spark of atomic and biological Life.

The blood flowing through our veins is just another type of water. Water is the main component in the constitution of the atmospheric envelope around this planet, and miraculously this planet is perfectly positioned to the Sun to sustain organic Life. Whenever astrophysicists encounter a planetary body that has even a smidgen of water on it, then it is cause for celebration because it could support LIFE!

On Monday, June 21st, at approximately 3:33am UT (4:33am BST) the position of our Sun will ingress into the sign of Cancer. The Moon will be at 9 degrees of Scorpio, which will add to the intensity of this Solstice moment, technically the longest day of light in the Northern Hemisphere. Everything becomes more visible as it were, and things and situations will stand out more. The very next day at 22:00 UT, Mercury will station direct in Gemini.  It will already be at a standstill at the time of the Solstice.  What happens next is that the truth will out. About quite a few things. A seminal moment in coming to grips with the Zeitgeist we have been living through for 18 months.

The archetype of Cancer it represents cuddly stuff. Warmth, protection, nurturing, childbearing and child-rearing, fecundity (in a polite sort of way), and Mother. She also is the Goddess aspect of Divine Mother. But you do not want to see Mama upset, cause if Mama is not happy, ain’t nobody happy. The shadow side of Cancer (Capricorn) can be smothering instead of mothering, being told what to do because it is for your own good you know, and passive-aggressive control tendencies.

However, with the Solstice, the strongest intuition is to connect with Consciousness as expressed in bodily form.  Spirit AS the Body. No boundaries, no separation, no distinction. God/Goddess as your essence and form.

Our innate body sense is often ignored in favour of the mind, and both end up suffering. We innately KNOW what is right and correct, and if we go against that with our logic, we will not have an incredibly happy time of it. This has recently been brought home to me on a personal level. If we do not listen, and nurture, and harmonize, our bodies will reflect the disjointed or stressed-out state of our mind and emotions.

On a more expansive scale, we can be aware that this is exactly what the planetary biosphere is doing.  Nature is telling us something is wrong, and doing so without blame or judgment, but with an urgency that seems to say; “you can no longer ignore these conditions…either within you or without you.”

Nurture is Nature…and is our nature. We ignore this at our peril. To nurture our thoughts towards a more loving way may be found in observing how Nature provides unequivocally for all creatures and living things. Yes, that reflects what Jesus is reported to have said; “behold, the lilies of the field, how they neither spin nor sow…” and other metaphors like that.

During a walk recently I stood at a fence overlooking a meadow that was filled with wild plants and flowers and watched as hundreds of bees of all types were busily moving from flower to flower. In the space of a few minutes, I could telepathically and emotionally feel what was transpiring. Nature was nurturing the bees, and in turn Her plants were benefiting. In short order, I was suddenly part of the natural order.  Observing yet participating. To my surprise I discovered that there were tears on my cheeks. I came to realize that what is transpiring in the world of humans has no power as great as what I was briefly part of in this moment. None.

Our species seems to have stepped so far away from the relationship that could so nurture and educate us.  The opportunity on Monday is to pause and connect with the twin energies of Sun and Mother Earth. An opportunity to remember, and to embrace this deepest of truths: we are loved, we are looked after (if we permit it), and there is a compassionate order that abides in Nature.

What shall we do with this moment, and the ones to follow? How then shall we live? Please re-read the words of Walt Whitman that this post began with for some inspiration. Examine closely what you value, and where you store up your riches. The key is surrendering into the unknown while following your Nature, by being as real as you can be. Sounds like a tall order. Maybe it is. But that is what the little mind will always tell you. Time to listen to deeper wisdoms and be nurtured from the bosom of the mother.

The 20-Day Mayan Ascension Process Begins: 4/14 -5/3/21

On the 14th of April 2021, for 20 days, humanity will travel through a cosmic chakra system and activate our kundalini. These days are powerful and activating as we merge the past, present and future. They are more powerful than an equinox, or a class X magnitude solar flare… but continuously for 20 days straight! The center column of the sacred Mayan calendar, the Tzolk’in, represents the spinal column of the human body and the core of the Earth running from north to south.

An ascension process begins in these 20 Core days, which will burn a holy fire through our chakras. This energy descends to Earth from the great central sun and God / Hunab Ku. Every 260 days, these energies return over and over, but each time with an ascending frequency. These 20 days will be beyond powerful at this pivotal and unique time where we have been pushed beyond of our comfort zones, and we have no reserve energy to control the things we try not to face. Yet… the Mayan Core days, if worked with conscious intent, can help anchor and manifest new frequencies into form. This is what we want to explain here. It is bit complicated with words, so I hope I don’t lose you.

These 20 powerful days are beginning on 4/14. We are being asked to absorb this trial by holy fire, by raising our frequencies to contain more energy and light than ever before. We will be asked to discover a new equilibrium and anchor our higher self’s orientation point. It is a time to become self-empowered and protected, and not get distracted by failing old programs.

There will be 5 pulses of energy that will burn though 5 Mayan chakras: the crown, throat, heart, solar plexus and root chakras. Each pulse will hold 4 days each, and each day holds one of the 4 directions (east, north, west and south).

What happens during these 20 days is this… Fresh cosmic energy, coming from the great central sun, begins to descend into our physical body starting at our crown chakra.

At the same time, newly upgraded energy, coming from the core of the Earth, begins to rise up into our physical body beginning at our root chakra. This process is very much like when a lightning bolt strikes the Earth. When a lightning bolt descends from the sky, the Earth’s energy also reaches up to meet the descending bolt. This merging point of descending cosmic energy, with the rising physical energy, reaches each other at a very powerful center point … our HEARTS! I just love this. The heart is the center of centers.

Then the new cosmic energy descending from the great central sun will continue down through our chakras until it is grounded within our physical body and anchored into the core of the Earth. Our ascending physical energy will also pass up through our heart and rise up through our crown and beyond until it reaches and anchors to the great central sun. This process will take 20 days.

The beginning of most traditional Mayan ceremonies begins with calling in, and sending love, to 7 cardinal points.

The FIRST PULSE will be from 4/14 – 4/17. These are the days of 4 IMIX, 5 IK, 6 AKBAL and 7 KAN. This first phase will activate your crown chakra, from the Great Central SUN, and your root chakra, from the core of the EARTH. These days will initiate a great ocean of creation, breathe life into this process, release an immense wisdom from the depths of our inner temple, and plant a seed for the intent of this process. This begins the process of merging heaven and Earth within. If we are paying attention, we could experience flashes of enlightened consciousness, and we may feel quite elevated.

The SECOND PULSE will be from 4/18 – 4/21. These are the days of 8 CHICCHAN, 9 CIMI, 10 MANIK and 11 LAMAT. This second phase will activate our throat chakra from the descending cosmic energy, and activate your solar plexus from the elevating energy from the core of the Earth. These four days begin collecting foundational wisdom. We will begin to let go, like a death of the past, and align with pure healing creation activating and transducing wisdom into a useable form. We exit the mental world and enter the world of spirit.

The THIRD PULSE will be from 4/22 – 4/25. These are the days of 12 MULUC, 13 OC, 1 CHUEN and 2 EB. This third phase will activate our center point, our HEART, now in balance between the cosmos and the Earth. These days are initiated with the energy of the cosmic moon of creation. Information is refined through spirit in a way to make it accessible. Some deeper issues may be triggered with emotions and heightened sensitivity. We can either destroy or create within the vastness of the heart. It will begin a starting over process. Health will need attention.

The FOURTH PHASE will be from 4/26 – 4/29. These are the days of 3 BEN, 4 IX, 5 MEN and 6 CIB. This fourth phase will now activate your solar plexus from the descending energies of the great central sun. It will also activate your throat chakra through the elevating energies from core of the Earth. These four days will begin with an activation called the pillars of light. It is where the Earth’s energy will begin to knit together with the energy from the great central sun. This phase will also be embedded with shamanic-like wisdom that is timeless. We will have access to higher forms of natural forces from the cosmos, and we will be able to anchor it into a more usable form on Earth. This is also where the real work will really start to kick in. Complex human relationships could feel unwieldy as we soar with broader vision and clarity about our service in the world. We will gain new boundaries that rise to a higher standard. This will trigger a more honest self-confidence, assisting us with being comfortable with authority figures without giving up personal power. During these days, we can learn to foster true community if focused upon.

The FIFTH and final phase will be from 4/30 – 5/3. These are the days of 7 CABAN, 8 ETZNAB, 9 CAUAC and 10 AHAU. This fifth phase will activate your root chakra from the descending energies of great central sun. It will also activate your crown chakra with the elevating energies from core of the Earth. These four days are the highest frequency of all 20 day signs, and they offer the most evolution … but they can also trigger the deepest work. Progressive and controversial creations could be birthed with strong convictions, but the challenge will be to hold it together. We might need space to face many new things that are reflecting back in the world mirror to us. If your focus is on community, we can develop cooperation skills instead of it having to be limited to self-interest vs self-sacrifice. Lightning flash clarity can come regarding accessing your own inner truth. We may be able to receive wisdom from physical or ethereal sources. We could be disappointed with unrealistic expectations triggered by our refined idealism. These are four very spiritual days where purification will rise to the forefront and even trigger our inner healer

The end of the 20 core days always leaves us a little frazzled, and we may feel a bit overwhelmed. We have absorbed so much in such a short amount of time that we may need to stop and breathe and just let it all settle in. Don’t try to force yourself to understand anything at first, because when you do, you push the wisdom away. Just allow all this to settle into your body, while the great central sun and the core of the Earth anchor inside of you. Once you gain some distance from these 20 days, you can look back and understand where you have grown and what transpired in these powerful days.

Keep in mind that these 20 core days could be viewed from many perspectives. There are layers within layers, and cycles within cycles, within infinite spherical time. This is only the front page of a huge book of knowledge that we all have access to. Keep your eyes and heart open. This is the energy that we all walk through together.

“The Power of No(w), and the Power of One”

 

The New Moon on Sunday/Monday, April 11th/12th (depending on what time zone you are in), and the Full Moon of April 26th-27th will be the harbingers for the beginning of 2021’s eclipse season, which kicks off on May 26th. These three lunations will be reflecting and instigating the next steps in the unfolding drama within the dream spell of human interactions. It will also herald an almost year-long process leading up to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces in mid-February 2022, just as Pluto arrives to station at the same degree as he was at when America was born on July 4th, 1776. The Pluto Return for the USA announces that this is the end of empire(s). China be warned!

Even though the last 15 months has tested everyone and everything to the extreme, we will now be entering another phase of that cycle, which began with the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn on January 12th, 2020, and then followed by the ingress of Saturn into Aquarius last December 21st, 2020. We are in for more change and disruption, but also with some distinct glimmers of light and radiance added in. This New Moon is the real beginning of the astrological “new year”, as we will have the Sun, Moon, Venus, Ceres, Mercury, and Chiron all in the sign of the Warrior/Ram. Very potent stuff! Not to be overlooked in this recipe is the addition of the minor planet Erisat 24 Degrees of Aries. Her other name is Discord/Truth. My fellow astrologer Eric Francis has also dubbed her the ‘Sigil of the Digital Age’.

This stellium in Cardinal Fire is also squared (tension) by Pluto in Capricorn. Mars, the ruler of this New Moon, has finally crossed over the North Node in Gemini, and is the first planet coasting out in the clear of everything that has been packed together on one side of the sky. A real traffic jam…which is why everything felt so stagnant these last 3 months.  We are now stimulated to not only initiate and act on our deepest impulses, to say “yes” to Life and to new opportunities, but to also use the power of “no” to counter anyone or anything that attempts to violate our boundaries or exert continued or new authority over us. Keep that in mind during the weeks following this weekend it will play out in the collective in surprising and sometimes distressing ways.

Essentially, the pulse I am picking up everywhere is a sense of exhaustion with the control and top-down way in which everything is being “managed”. Nothing like a global health emergency to drive people to extremes of behaviour. I have directly experienced and had folks report to me that long-standing friends and some family members have become strangers. This is a direct manifestation of Saturn in Aquarius. The crowd says “yes”, and a handful say “no”. The pressure to conform, to do what is right according to the authority (Saturn) is building up, all done with digital mediums like track and trace, proposed medical passports, and surveillance.

With the arising of the Aries season the power of “no”, done in the “now”, by each “one” who hears the call of their soul will challenge this pattern of authoritarian control. The mask is slipping, as it were. Chiron in Aries is the energy of the Warrior as Healer, and unlikely Hero. During the next 10-11 months, Chiron will represent a guiding light for the wise way through much of what will (probably) unfold. I may sound like I am hedging my bets there. It is mainly due to the presence of Uranus in Taurus. His archetype is prominent in that first total Lunar Eclipse on May 26th, 2021, but that is a discussion for another time.

Since duality itself is a phenomenon of the One in materiality, it should be obvious that when one says “no” to something or someone, the flip side is also present. We are saying “yes” to something else.

In this situation, I feel it is looks and feels like a big “yes” for individual sovereignty and respect and at the same time a recognition that none of us, of and by ourselves, can do everything. This is the cornerstone that many have lost touch with – the balance between Self and Other, between the physical and the ethereal, between acceptance and rejection. Another way of thinking about it is embodied awareness that recognizes its own survival is already a foregone conclusion. Death is a phantom, and Uranus in Taurus warms us up to the embrace of organic symbiotic interactions with all creatures great and small, while at the same time placing one’s own survival instinct into unfamiliar place…one of trusting Life and losing the attachment to ego preservation.

In the image with this article, one taken from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the figure of Gandalf the Grey, a seemingly small-time wizard of little stature, is facing off against a dark adversary of immense proportions. An evil of the ancient world, a Balrog of Morgoth. Does he cower or falter, even when his demise seems certain? No. His fellowship with the Hobbits, and men, and a single elf are at stake. So is their mission. He stands his ground, and courageously speaks to the shadow and flame, “you…shall…not…pass!” He says “no” with everything he has within him.  I personally aspire to possess such courage, and such calmness, as Tolkien’s unlikely hero, Gandalf the Grey, does.

Whoever you are, and wherever you are, I hope you may be inspired to discover and set loose your biggest “no’s” and “yes’s!” We will have plenty of opportunities to explore, experiment and experience this core energy of the divine within each of us. Fearlessness is not the absence of fear. It is a fear sublimated and harnessed by Love and harnessed to for a purpose that is in the truth of your Being.

We are going to need to do more than just talk truth to power. We will have to ask ourselves to act like the truth matters. One truth is this – while everyone is focused near field of fear about viruses and vaccines, no one is looking behind the veil and beyond to the larger picture. For the first time in our history, the threshold of carbon dioxide levels has surpassed 420ppm. The last time our Earth has been this warm was 3 million years ago, during the Pliocene Epoch.

The proposals for vaccination documents or passports conceals a deeper and more disturbing feature that arises from the increasing reliance and implementation of A.I. across the globe for surveillance and social manipulation. I will be covering more of this in depth during my radio show on April 18th.

Usually during times of the greatest challenge and darkness, we rediscover the Light within, and regain the wisdom and sense to course-correct. This may be the most important time on this planet since the days of Atlantis. The choices around what is most helpful and humane and what is not, are becoming clearer by the day. Not everyone will see or hear what you may have to say, so do yourself a favour. Do not attempt to open a closed system. Respect the boundaries of others, as you would want others to respect your boundaries. However, you have an inherent right to the following: to choose how you manage your life, your health, your relationships, and especially your consciousness and your individual relationship to whatever your spiritual path and concepts of the Divine might be.

Unconditional Love is allowing. And that also includes allowing yourself free expression to say your biggest “yes’s”, and your biggest “no’s”.

The Eyes of Truth

 

 

Astro Event Forecast: Full Moon in Libra – Sunday, March 28th at 6:48pm UT, 7:48pm BST and 12:48pm EDT

As Astro-Events go, this and the following New Moon in Aries on April 12th are like lasers focused on a target. In the first one, happening this Sunday, the Moon in Libra is like an archer, drawing a bow to shoot an arrow directly into a trio of objects in Aries: The Sun, Venus, and Chiron (see chart). This is known as a “kite”, but when viewed horizontally, it looks like an archer taking aim. The kite is not exact, but it is close enough for our purposes here. What it represents in our experience and consciousness is a significant departure from the stratification, atomization and forced immobility of the past 12 months.

The Full Moon shines a big bright light on the Tres Amigos in Aries. It is reflecting the Sun’s light though, which tells me that the Aries energy predominates. Mars, the depositor of Aries, is also involved and conjunct the Nodal Axis, or Nodes of Fate at 14 degrees of Gemini. Which way will things go? This or that, up or down, in or out, truth or fiction? The North Node conjunct Mars not only says “what is happening here…right NOW!”, but is also asking, the is the new truth of this moment? Do we continue hunkering down, fearful, furtive, anxious? Or is the warrior that Mars and Aries are going to see with the eyes of truth what has been happening, and then ACT?

Healing, Love, and Truth: A Portal of Possibility

Chiron says, “This could be a real healing opportunity in which I/we can remember to trust our own instincts (in-tuition) and act from that place. Not to validate my identity, but to render meaningful my presence as a spiritual being in this physical space!”

Venus in Aries says, “I will no longer be afraid of love, or to express love, or show love, or to be bold as love.  Passion is my name, spontaneity is my game, and I will be sovereign and not be controlled by any self-appointed authority or master!”

Sun in Aries says, “I will shine the light on the Truth, and all who have the eyes to see it, will respond. I shine for all, I give to all, and my Love is for all Life. I have no favourites. But I will not shine for those who hide their faces from me, or deny me, or trust their egos over their souls. They will be, by their choice, remain in darkness for a while yet.”

Minor planet Eris is in the sign of Aries, and will play a significant role in the New Moon in Aries chart on April 12th, 2021. I will cover that before it happens though.

This is a portal, and opening, an opportunity. Time to reboot, look again, question, reflect, and prepare to act over the next few weeks and months. The breakups and breakdowns will accelerate us out of the seeming prison planet of our old structures, beginning with this lunation. With the Moon in Libra, it is helpful to remember the concept of “both/and”, rather than “either/or” or bad/good, black/white. Holding the balance is essential. What will not be helpful is playing it safe for the sake of personal peace at all costs. That would be and could be very costly.

I grew up listening to the messages of my mother, a sensitive survivor of the class distinctions of the first half of the 20th Century. Here programming sounded like this: “Go along with things to get along”, or “don’t rock the boat”. With someone like me, that was like waving a red flag in front of a bull. My North Node in Aries would not stand for it!

For the past two months, the pre-eminent power has been Saturn in Aquarius. It has been the energetic driver behind us, pushing, pushing, pushing everyone to conform around an enforced idea or conceptualization of what “us” should be (“we’re all in this together”) and the medium of that enforcement is electronic and wireless technology. Working and living online has become ‘the’ way to get along and go along. It is all for your own protection and all that. Now you do not have to be around any potential walking biohazards.

Weapons of Mass Distraction

If you feel that you seem to be busier than ever, and enjoying life less, you will resonate with what I have just said. So many have mentioned to me that there is a sense of no space to breathe or relax, or if they get that, it is all too short before the next demand lands on their desk…or unbidden from the monkey mind. This is what cortisol poisoning feels like, and it is unsustainable.

Fraud and weapons of mass distraction are everywhere. Some of us need to just switch off the mainstream media, just to create some space. Very understandable. It is also essential to not get caught up in divisive dialogues with total strangers. From all sides I hear about the hostility arising between those who opt for the injections and support draconian lockdowns, and those who do not feel it is for them. Often now, the split in one’s own circle of friends or family, and mirrors what Jesus allegedly said over 2000 years ago: “They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” – Luke 12:53.

I cite this purely as an example only. A crime is in progress against humanity and humanness, a crime of enforced separation.

We are being confronted now with where we have been bargaining for safety and certainty. Where we have unconsciously or consciously, for the sake of our sense of survival, to go along with things, just so we can muddle through. That time is coming to an end now. We are being prodded and poked into something much greater, and it will take every ounce of perseverance and stamina to see it through.

The Moon in Libra represents “what will WE do?” The Sun, Venus and Chiron represents “Trust yourself for the answers…they come from the One Source within. You have everything you need inside, so why would you settle for less than excellence in all things?”

The Eyes of Truth are upon us. How then shall we respond? With love, positivity, devotion, will, and courage. I hope. United we stand, divided we fall.
