Calling in higher levels of discernment…

At the start of this year, Maryam shared her energy forecast for 2021. This channeled forecast mentioned not explaining your divine self, equal energy exchange, landing on your feet, owning the room, and forgiveness, but what came in strong from Spirit was this concept of HIGHER LEVELS OF DISCERNMENT.

As we become more spiritually sensitive and continue to raise our consciousness to attune to these higher levels of extrasensory perception, that which we perceive as “the world” becomes radically different from once we believed it to be. As we begin calling in higher levels of discernment, tune in and ask yourself “how much of what I am feeling actually belongs to me?” It is this self-awareness and connection to other planes of consciousness that we find our intuition and discernment soar.

We have to develop the discernment to be able to decide what is right for us. This requires us to be willing to learn and interpret the ways our higher self and the universe communicates by guiding us through feelings, sensations, and intuitive nudges. While the collective will be experiencing an increase in higher levels of discernment throughout this year, you can still pray for spiritual discernment in the meantime. “Please give me more discerning eyes to see and more discerning ears to hear what is and what is not in alignment for my path.”

You know that your true consciousness is the entire cosmos, so are you creating from the vastness of who you truly are? Or are you manifesting from identification as the tiny aspect of your consciousness that inhabits this finite body. This year is calling us to rise and stand in our sovereignty, to be willing and confident to ask for support from higher realms.

If ever there was a time to practice not enmeshing and not bringing other people’s energy into your own field, it’s now. The greatest gift you can give yourself is to do the inner work to simply be in integrity with yourself, not for the approval of others. We explore how we can call in and embody higher levels of discernment through courses within New Earth Mystery School and we provide tools for energetic protection and energetic embodiment in our Energy is Currency course.

Get a Dog, Save the Planet

Dogs add a lot to our lives as companions, guards, playmates, and helpers in our fight against Global Climate Change!

My cousin Mark is a pretty smart guy who reads widely. (All my cousins are above average.) Here is what Mark sent to me in an e-mail about dogs:

“Professor Temple Grandin says that dogs are genetic wolves that have co-evolved with humans for 100,000 years, maybe more. Hence dogs and humans have complementary advantages and deficits. Humans used to have a better sense of hearing and smell, now dogs are better than us at those. Humans walk upright and have better vision and organizational skills, so dogs depend on us to see things and try to find them. Both are social creatures. So the lesson is that Nature has bundled the hardware and software for these skills and abilities between the two species. Unbundling them carries certain risks, so you should try to live with a dog if you can.”

I agree that dogs and humans are a pretty good combination. We’ve had a dog for about a year now. Cooper is a medium-sized Labradoodle, which is a Labrador Retriever and Poodle mix. He’s a great dog and we love him a lot. He’s heartbreakingly cute and cuddly. He has a Lab’s great disposition and a Poodle’s smarts. We think he’s the best dog ever.

But, along with being a good partner, is Cooper an energy efficient addition to our household? Are pets, and dogs in particular, a step in the right direction in the battle against global warming and the fight for energy security? Is Underdog more than a cartoon?

I think “bundling” ourselves with animals is a good idea for lots of reasons, but here is why I think dogs are energy efficient:

  1. Dogs add warmth in the winter and stay outside most of the time in the summer, so they don’t add much to a house’s cooling load.
  2. Dogs add fur in the winter and cool themselves using their tongues. Try that, humans!
  3. When he has nothing to do, Cooper lays down flat as a pancake and barely moves, thereby conserving energy.
  4. Dogs are great alarm systems and don’t even need batteries.
  5. Dogs eat stuff that humans throw away. They will clean your plates if you let them, saving water and energy.
  6. Because dogs need to be walked, they cause their owners to exercise, reducing their owners’ appetite and therefore their food intake (that’s how it’s supposed to work).
  7. Dogs give you unconditional love and so you don’t have to drive your car to visit family and friends.

What’s your dog’s energy pawprint?

It’s not over till it’s over!

For a long time, I have been sharing a vision I had many years ago. What was said to me was, “We are going into a period of great chaos. Many people will leave the planet. People are being prepared to be lights in the midst of the chaos.”

I knew, way back in 1975, that getting ready for the chaos was the path I had to take. I had no idea what that meant or when “the chaos” would arrive.

So I learned to stay in the moment and wait for the inner urge to do whatever I was called upon to do. This meant learning to listen on a deep inner level and to trust whatever guidance I was receiving.

In August 1976, I gave away everything I owned and went on a lengthy journey that I described in my book The Search for Connection: A Spiritual Journey to Physical, Emotional, and Financial Health.

In the process, I learned to let go of fear and to understand that there are forces at work that are beyond my comprehension.

Over the years, I could see the division in our country taking shape. I learned how to watch the news with a level of detachment, knowing that when the chaos came I would need to be able to watch the drama and not get emotionally involved with it.

It’s been a long time coming, but we are stepping into the core of the chaos. I believe that it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. It’s hard to maintain order when people feel powerless and suppressed.

We also have to do deal with the rapidly spreading coronavirus, climate change, economic inequality, racial injustice, and other planetary problems. The United States appears to be the epicenter of disruption.

There is no good or bad – only what is

It seems remarkable to me that people living in the same country can perceive what’s going on from such different perspectives. Because I have tried to watch the drama with detachment, it’s amazing that there is such a diversity of opinions about our shared experiences.

I try not to judge. Instead, I ask what kind of hurt people must have experienced early in their lives in order to want to rebel and express such anger. Is it really possible to love thy neighbor when one feels treated unfairly by those who are in positions of authority?

What we are living through is chaotic, destructive, confusing, and sometimes frightening. We are going through a period of cataclysmic change that requires that we examine what has happened from as detached a point of view as possible.

There is no easy fix for what has happened in our divided society. The chaos is not going to miraculously disappear as we join together and walk into a kumbaya moment of togetherness.

We are going to be dealing with chaos and confusion for what will seem like a long time. It is difficult for our leaders to understand the hunger, economic uncertainty, fear, and anger that ordinary people are experiencing.

This cataclysmic moment requires that we understand the hurt and pain that people are expressing in many different ways.

We are living in a time of great unknown. Our brains are wired to fear the unknown. The solution, for me, is to stay focused in the moment and have hope for the future.

I would love to know how you are dealing with the chaos. Or are you just ignoring it? Email me at [email protected] and share your thoughts.

5 Tips To Look After Our Mental Well-Being In Hard Times

During these difficult times it is very important to look after our mental and physical well-being, starting by paying attention to our negative emotions and thoughts.

One of the first things people experience during hard times is anxiety and insecurity, due to feelings of uncertainty.

In Italy, where the virus struck with fury, 80% of the population needed help to cope with the situation, according to surveys done by CNOP (Consiglio Nazionale Ordini Psicologi). According to the ONS (Office for National Statistics) in the UK, almost 50% of the population had reported an increase in their levels of anxiety, and in the USA a survey done by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found an increase in psychological distress from 3.7% in 2018 to 24% in 2020 — and the list goes on.

The point here is to improve our coping mechanisms and be prepared to face whatever is coming toward us.

I will give you a few tips to boost mental wellbeing and have some tools to go to when needed.

Tip One:

Acknowledge a negative emotion you might be having, replace it with the opposite emotion: for example, if you are feeling unrest, replace it by calmness by recalling a time where you experienced this positive emotion. Stay there as much as you can, feeling calmness in every cell of your body until the negative emotion is gone. This short exercise requires a bit of effort, but we are powerful creators and we can do what we want when we have the will to make a change.

Tip Two:

Keep a journal. Writing has several mental health benefits, because it helps us to reflect on our emotions and actions, and in doing so we are able to find solutions and act accordingly.

Tip Three:

List 10 positive feelings and create 2 mantras with them, then repeat those mantras several times a day. Mantras (words or sounds to help concentrate one’s focus) calm the mind and, through the power of repetition, enable us to change our thoughts.

Tip Four:

Ask for help if you feel you cannot cope alone with your current situation. Often in our society asking for help is seen as a weakness, and this way of thinking has been very detrimental to our well-being. Family and friends can do a lot for us if we know how to approach to them, and mental health services are there to serve you.

Tip Five:

Control your attention. Our attention is like a laser, difficult to direct, however by being aware of where your attention is going, you can redirect it to other things. We are creators, so put your abilities and knowledge to work: write, paint, dance, watch movies, read a novel, chat with friends, create something uplifting.

Bonus Tip:

Do all these activities from the heart, with purpose. Our heart is the place where the energy of love resides.
